Time is running out if you want to vote on which scary movie to see as the second flick in a double feature of frightful films at the Princess Theatre on Friday, Oct. 25.

The deadline to cast your vote for one of four films is midnight, Sept. 21.

The first film, “Trick ‘r Treat,” will begin at 7 p.m. in the historic theatre on N. Roane. It will be followed by one of the following four films: “The Cabin in the Woods” (2011), rated R; “Carrie” (1976) rated R; “Duel” (1971), rated PG; or “The House of the Devil” (2009), rated R.

After voting, you can enter your name to win Roane State Community College apparel.

Before the first feature, Assistant Professor Abigail Schoolfield will give a brief lecture at 6:45 p.m. about the nature of modern horror films and discuss the history of Halloween going back to ancient Celtic times.

“I plan to discuss the history of Halloween that the movie ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ explores,” Prof. Schoolfield said. She said she’ll also talk about the various Halloween themes in the five different story lines in the movie.

The event is presented by Roane State’s Arts and Lectures Committee.
