Raiders Volleyball tripped up at Chattanooga St.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Roane State Raiders volleyball team suffered a tough loss on the road at Chattanooga St., 3-1 (17-25, 19-25, 25-23 and 21-25). The loss dropped the Raiders to third place in the conference with only three matches remaining.

Having fallen behind two sets to none, the Raiders won a hard-fought third set 25-23 before succumbing to the Lady Tigers in the fourth.

On the evening, three Raiders shared the top spot in the kills category. Olivia Elliott, Madison McWhorter and Allee Hyatt each had six kills. Skylar Jenkins had 14 assists for the Roane women and Keely Stilwill tallied 13 digs.

Several Raiders are among the conference leaders in various categories.

Whitney Thompson is fourth in the league with 2.8 kills per set and third with total kills (144). She is also third in hitting percentage (.293).

Madison McWhorter is first in the conference in blocks per set (0.79) and fourth in hitting percentage (.244).

Olivia Elliott is fourth in blocks per set at 0.63.

Keely Stilwill tops the league in digs per set (5.25) and is second in total digs (299).
Haven Stalcup leads the conference in service aces per set (0.82).

Skylar Jenkins is third in assists per set (4.54) with Kelsey Courtney right behind her in fourth place (4.33)

The Raiders return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 11 with a home match against Cleveland St. The game is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
