Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology

Roane State plans to offer an Ultrasound Program beginning Fall 2014. This will be a degree program with selective admission.

The prerequisite general education courses for admission will include:

Communication 1 course-3 credits
ENGL 1010 Comp I
   
Speech 1 course-3 credits
SPCH 1010 Fundamentals of Speech Com
   
Humanities/Fine Arts 1 course-3 credits
   
Mathematics 1 course-3 credits
   
Natural Science 2 courses-8 credits
BIOL 2010 Human Anatomy and Physiology I
BIOL 2020 Human Anatomy and Physiology II
   
Social Science 1 course-3 credits

All of these courses must be taken and completed with a grade of C or better before an applicant will be considered for admission to the program.  Admission criteria will be essentially the same as the criteria published in the college catalog for other Allied Health Science degree programs. An interview will be required.

Upon TBR approval, the Ultrasound program will be added to the Allied Health Sciences electronic application for the 2013-14 academic year.  The application deadline for the program will be May15, 2014.  There will be additional admissions information on the program website once the program is approved.  TBR approval is expected by October 2013.
