There are a variety of scholarships available through the Roane State Foundation. Not all scholarships are based on financial need. There are scholarships available for certain majors, non-traditional students, students with a disability, academic achievement, etc. There may be a scholarship just waiting for you, but you can't be awarded one if you don't apply.
Altrusa International of Oak Ridge
Description: The Altrusa Scholarship is intended for women who are non-traditional students and have interrupted their studies for work or family obligations and are returning to school to complete their education or for women who are beginning their education after an interruption between high school and college. Altrusa is offering scholarships of $1000 or more to deserving women who demonstrate a genuine financial need. Please see flyer for more information.

AAUW Oak Ridge Branch 2016 Spring Scholarship
Description: The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Oak Ridge Branch promotes equity for women, lifelong education, philanthropy, and positive societal change. AAUW-Oak Ridge will sponsor scholarships for women during the 2017 RSCC Spring Term. The number of scholarships each covering the tuition of one 3-hour course will be determined by the quality of the applications received. Up to six (6) scholarships can be offered this term.
Criteria: Awarded to female students age 25 or older. GPA minimum 3.0

Description: This East Tennessee Foundation Scholarship Program is made up of different scholarship funds established by individuals, firms, or organizations wanting to assist individuals pursuing a college education. 2017 East Tennessee Foundation Scholarship opportunities include scholarships for which adult students are eligible. Scholarship information, including detailed descriptions and application instructions, as well as 2017 applications, will be available on the ETF website, www.easttennesseefoundation.org, beginning November 1, 2016. All ETF scholarship applications must be completed and submitted online. Attached please find a copy of the online applicant tutorial. The application deadline for ETF 2016 scholarships is February 15, 2016.

Description: This scholarship is funded by the STEM grant program for students with majors in the STEM discipline.

Program for Continuing Education (PCE) Grant from the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.)
Description: The P.E.O. offers a one time award of up to $3000.00 to women pursuing a degree or certificate that leads to a job in the field of study. Please see flyer for more information.

Description: Scarlett Foundation scholarship is for students who have graduated or will graduate from high school in mid-TN counties and is pursuing a business or STEM major full-time in the fall of 2018. They must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must have financial need.

To better serve the students at Roane State that are planning on transferring to another university, we have compiled a list of some of the local universities and their deadlines for applying for scholarships.
Students are also encouraged to pursue scholarship opportunities outside of Roane State. Sources for information include public libraries, civic groups, and the internet.
For additional scholarship opportunities, the Financial Aid Office at Roane State Community College encourages students to visit FastWeb, an online scholarship database.
