There are two main groups of scholarships at Roane State:
1. RSCC Foundation
There are a variety of scholarships available through the Roane State Foundation. Not all scholarships are based on financial need. There are scholarships available for certain majors, older students, disabled/handicapped students, academic achievement, etc. There may be a scholarship just waiting for you, but you can't be awarded one if you don't apply! Do it today!
2. Scholarship for Academic Service (SAS)
For New Students: 2010-2011 Scholarship for Academic Service (SAS) - Deadline is March 19, 2010
For Returning Students: The SAS is renewable without any further application for 3 consecutive semesters however, each semester (fall and spring), the recipient must maintain a 2.75 GPA and work 75 hours per semester at an assigned RSCC location.
3. External Scholarships
As a new feature of the Financial Aid Office, the following scholarship links have been made available for you. Look for these updates on the RaiderNet, the RSCC web page, or on your campus to get the most recent listings for additional funding. All applications are available from the Roane County Financial Aid Office.

Students are also encouraged to pursue scholarship opportunities outside of Roane State. Sources for information include public libraries, civic groups, and the internet. However, students and parents should be aware that some companies offer to search for scholarships for a fee. These companies should be avoided as there are sufficient free scholarship search possibilities.
