Tennessee High School Equivalency Diploma (HiSET)

Formerly known as the GED, the high school equivalency test (HiSET) is administered at Roane State in Oak Ridge and on the Roane, Campbell, Loudon, Morgan and Scott County campuses. All potential examinees MUST register with an Adult Education Office and take the Official Practice Test (OPT) prior to scheduling a test date. Failure to provide official paperwork on your testing day will result in cancellation of your test and loss of your testing fees.

Eligibility Requirements

In Tennessee, you must meet the following eligibility requirements to take the HiSET.


To find an Adult Education program near you, please call 844-323-7323 (toll free). They can provide information regarding registration. When you are ready to take the HiSET they can help get you schedule and pay your fees.

GED and HiSET Transcripts

GED/HiSET Transcript databases are no longer accessible by Testing Centers. To receive a copy of your GED/HiSET transcript you must contact:
