Welcome to First Class, Roane State Community College’s (RSCC) dual studies program for high school students. The program allows students to earn college credit toward a degree or a certificate at a Tennessee public institution of higher education. The credit may also count toward a high school diploma. The dual studies program includes dual credit (courses taught at the high school by high school teachers) and dual enrollment (courses taught by faculty qualified to teach college courses that may be taught at the college, at the high school or via distance learning). Many students are not aware that dual credit and dual enrollment are two different ways to earn college credit. Please read carefully to determine the pathway that is best for you. Do not hesitate to contact the college if you have questions regarding the First Class program.
This video clip conveys a success story of a former dual enrollment student from Clinton High School, Jody Goins. Mr. Goins is the principal at Oak Ridge High School and he depicts a profile in education.
You will have a Roane State email account automatically when you enroll at the college. On your phone or computer, set up your email to access mail.roanestate.edu using your RaiderNet email/password. This will not access Momentum email for web courses, but it will allow you to access and send Roane State email without logging into RaiderNet. For assistance, contact the Help Desk at (865) 354-3000 ext. 4357.
If you need tutoring or online help, please visit the Learning Center.
