Ann Berry, Writing Specialist

"Getting to be a small part of the process of watching a student turn a writing into a well-crafted paper is a thrill.  My favorite part of working in the Learning Resource Center is seeing freshmen become confident college graduates.  As a teacher, I have an incredible job because I don't give a grade; I simply get to help students improve. My passion is fueled not only by a desire to see the skill of writing develop, but to see the fruition of William Butler Yeates' quote,  'Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.'"

Tammy Castleberry: Chemistry and A & P tutor

"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching."

Bre Dye: Math tutor

"Hello!  My name is Bre Dye!  I goeth to school to become a teacher of math, therefore I shall tutor thee in the mentioned subject if thou comes to me."

Andrew Kerley: Writing tutor

"I like helping my fellow students unlock their potential and get the grade."

Tyler McNew: Math and Writing tutor

"I enjoy tutoring math and writing because when the light of understanding shines in the student's eyes, joy fills my heart.  I aspire to be a college literature professor and instruct the students of tomorrow.  Students learn in all ways and I seek to bring them to a bright, intellectual future."

Emily Miller: Math tutor

"The reason I love to tutor is to see that moment where a student "gets it".  I've been there myself when I finally grasp a concept and to share that moment with an individual is truly special."

Kristen Newman: A & P, Microbiology, and Chemistry tutor

"My reason for enjoying tutoring is that I was in the position of needing help in my classes and the learning center saved me. I want to be a part of helping someone understand that they are capable of conquering their hardest classes if they ask for help and work hard."

Mike Overton: Math & Writing tutor

Ciara Schon: Writing and A & P tutor
