Courier service will be provided each workday to each site.
The courier will deliver mail and small packages or items. Deliveries of larger items and/or special bulk shipments may be scheduled by submitting a Work Order Request using the eMaint - New Requests link in the eMaint Work Order System box at the lower left corner of the Banner tab in RaiderNet. Items picked up by the courier will normally be delivered the next day, or the same day if in the courier's forward line of travel. Users must then allow sufficient time for internal distribution, which is handled by others. Internal mail distribution is the responsibility of the Business Office.
Items sent by courier must be properly labeled. Labels must include the receiver's name, department and campus location. This information must be clearly readable.
Each location will have a designated "mail person" to coordinate deliveries, sort mail and serve as a point of contact.
Outgoing mail will be pre-sorted and bundled when necessary by the mail person. Bundled mail must also have the appropriate color code, designating the recipient's location, conspicuously attached to the bundle. Color-coded paper slips will be assigned to each site and provided to the site's mail person. (The mail person should contact the physical plant when additional slips are needed.)
The courier's estimated arrival and departure times at each stop will be posted at each location.
Users of the courier service must mail items in sufficient time to allow for an occasional delay. Traffic congestion, road construction, accidents, severe weather, mechanical problems and other unpredictable events adversely impact the reliability and timeliness of this service.
