Roane State CC drops 13-5 game to Southwest CC

Roane State CC collected five hits, but Roane State CC fell 13-5 to Southwest CC at Harriman, TN on Saturday.

Kemp got the win for Southwest CC. He allowed two runs over six innings. Kemp struck out six, walked one and gave up three hits.

Southwest CC's Smith, Hoyt, Villanueva and Anthony Stretner combined for 10 hits and eight RBIs.

Brandon Marsonek was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked none and struck out one.

Southwest CC pushed across three runs in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, Southwest CC scored on an RBI single by Villanueva, scoring Seaton.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the third, Roane State CC faced just a 6-1 deficit. An error set off Roane State CC rally. Kemp ended the inning by getting Andrew Henson to fly out.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Roane State CC close its deficit to 9-2. A wild pitch triggered Roane State CC's comeback. Finally, Kemp got Lance Mays to ground out to end the threat.

Three runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Roane State CC close its deficit to 13-5. A two-run single by Derek Basler and an error gave Roane State CC life. But, #28 got Colby Reeder to ground out to end the game.
