Roane State CC drops 17-7 game to Chattanooga St.

Despite JT O'Reel's 2-4 performance at the plate on Sunday, Roane State CC took a 17-7 loss at the hands of Chattanooga St. at Chattanooga, TN.

Even though Zach Thompson allowed seven runs over 5 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory. Zach struck out seven, walked two and gave up five hits.

Matt Smith was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The top of the first saw Roane State CC take an early lead, 2-0. Roane State CC's rally started when JT singled. A single by Logan Jenkins then moved JT from first to second. Roane State CC pushed more runs across when Basler scored on a walk by Logan Fleener.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as Chattanooga St. scored eight runs on a two-run double by Brandon Day, a fielder's choice, a home run by Jay Rhoten, and an RBI single by Scout Plott.

After pushing across five runs in the top of the sixth, Roane State CC faced just a 13-6 deficit. An error, an RBI single by Lance Mays, an RBI single by JT, and an RBI single by Logan Jenkins set off Roane State CC rally. Brandon Smith ended the inning by getting Derek Basler to fly out.
