Roane State CC drops 4-2 game to Jackson St. despite efforts of Landon Byron
Landon Byron did all he could to give Roane State CC a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Jackson St., as Roane State CC lost 4-2 in seven innings at Harriman, TN on Saturday.
Landon racked up two RBIs on two hits for Roane State CC. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Jackson St. was sparked by Clayton Smithson and Zach Tompkins, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
In the bottom of the second, Roane State CC grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by Landon started the inning off.
Jackson St. stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring one run on an RBI single by Clayton.
Jackson St. piled on two more runs in the top of the sixth. Austin Schubert's single got things going, plating Zach Tompkins. That was followed up by Blake Rowlett's double, bringing home Ryan Helgren.
One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Roane State CC close its deficit to 4-2. An RBI single by Landon fueled Roane State CC's comeback. The Roane State CC threat came to an end when Tommy Weiler finally got Lance Mays to ground out.
