Roane State CC musters 7 hits, drops 14-5 contest to Jackson St.
Despite a big day at the dish from Logan Fleener, who finished 3-3, Roane State CC lost 14-5 to Jackson St. at Harriman, TN on Saturday.
Jackson St. easily handled Roane State CC pitching as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Jackson St. scored four runs on a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Taylor Walker.
Two runs in the bottom of the second helped Roane State CC close its deficit to 4-2. A two-run single by Logan Jenkins triggered Roane State CC's comeback. But, Taylor Mahowald got Andrew Henson to fly out to end the inning.
Jackson St. posted three runs in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh. In the fourth, Jackson St. scored on an RBI single by Taylor Walker, bringing home Austin Schubert.
After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fourth, Roane State CC faced just a 7-5 deficit. An RBI single by JT O'Reel, a groundout by Derek Basler, and an error sparked Roane State CC's rally.
