This degree program provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue individual career goals and an alternative for currently employed adults who wish to continue their formal education. The electives in this program may be earned by taking appropriate courses, by transferring credit earned in a diploma program at a Tennessee College of Applied Technology or technical certificate at a community college, through recognized industry, certification programs, and by portfolio assessment of college-level learning gained through employment.
UPDATE: Effective, October 2014, the Tennessee Board of Regents placed a moratorium on the transference of TCAT articulation block credit. Only those students who were enrolled in Fall 2014 are eligible to receive the articulated credit as long as they maintain continuous enrollment at Roane State (excluding summer terms). Students seeking credit for TCAT courses should consult with their faculty advisor regarding prior learning credit.
