Go over why one uses ink and why a single line cross-out for correction.

1)   If you were involved in laboratory work which related to such things as
certification, measurements for legal purposes and regulations, why would it be
important to follow the above rule?

     You should never hide errors, only correct them.  Often important with
regulations.  Failure to do so may lead to a violation of the law.
 
 

2)   If you make an error in recording a number, what do you do?

     Use a single cross-out line an put the correction next to the error

3)   What do you do if the corrected value is found to be in error?
