I think that donating the quilts that we have made to the B4Books organization is a wonderful cause. The quilt will help the children educationally by presenting aspects of geometry as well as learning a new nursery rhyme, book, or song. The smile on that special child’s face is such a heartwarming feeling and I am so glad that I have had an opportunity to be a part of that.
This particular project was fun and educational at the same time. I truly enjoyed being creative and putting together an original piece. I chose Miss Muffet as my quilt topic because it was one of my childhood favorites and I am excited to know that I can share that with a child. As I am inducted into the teaching profession I will definitely reflect this project to future assignments that I give to my students.
Before this project I did not know how to sew very well and I progressively became much better. I also learned properties of shapes that I had not known beforehand and how to incorporate them to create something beautiful.
Overall, I was very pleased with the assignment and donation of the project. I enjoy a class that offers hands on activity and I am glad I was enrolled in this class in order to create this project.
