DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Provide leadership to support all student learning within the academic unit both credit and noncredit
Serve as administrator for course management system (Desire2Learn).
Held accountable and responsible for development and implementation of strategic plans to provide consultation, training and support for administrators, faculty, staff and students related to technology, instructional design, teaching and learning strategies.
Serve as Chair or Co-Chair of the Educational Technology Committee and serve on other appropriate college committees.
Keep informed of emerging applications of learning theory and instructional design including technology applications to encompass learning objects, multi-media applications as they relate to online learning and serve as a resource for the academic divisions.
Coordinate within the college and the Tennessee Board of Regents system the usage of alternative delivery systems including web, interactive classroom technology, hybrid and the Regents Online Degree Program.
Manage team members and budget for the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree with five years experience directly related to distance learning and/or instructional technology including teaching experience.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in post-secondary educational setting or equivalent in business/industry training.
Knowledge of current distance education practices and educational technologies.
Familiar with college student databases required. Knowledge of SunGard Banner helpful.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work collegially with faculty in the development of courses and programs
Proficient with use of Microsoft Office
