Statement of Purpose
RSCC's department of education's purpose is to provide a program of study that will contribute to the preparation of future teachers. Through instruction, outreach efforts with public schools and the use of technology, the department strives to prepare its students to transfer to four-year colleges where they will be successful in attaining a degree and license to teach.
The courses are taught by specialists in their field of study who constantly strive to provide research-based instruction that enhances learning through critical thinking, knowledge of human development and the psychology of teaching. The faculty also strives to educate students regarding the behaviors of a multi-cultural pluralistic society in which they will teach.
