Engineers for Tennessee (STEM)

The STEM (Scientific, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program matches military non-commissioned and commissioned officers based on their service to country, discipline, and skills to partnering Tennessee colleges and universities. The employment demands of Tennessee’s technological corridor require a highly skilled work force. You can train in the fields of nuclear, electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering by gaining an academic foundation at Roane State Community College and then transferring to one of our partnering universities. Acceptance into the program will be based on certain qualifications, and the first group of candidates will be able to enroll Spring 2009 term.

- This program will get you started speaking the language of engineers: learn to use words, mathematics, and pictures to communicate both qualitatively and quantitatively.
- Get hands-on laboratory experience as well as theory and mathematical instruction.
- Roane State pre-engineers learn problem-solving methods and become problem solvers.
- Roane State pre-engineers succeed at employers such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Y-12 National Security Complex, Bechtel Jacobs, Pro2Serve, NASA, TVA, Naval Surface Warfare Center, and many others.
