About the Concentration

As American jobs head overseas, one U.S. industry still leads the world, ENTERTAINMENT. Worldwide, American music, theatre, dance, film, radio, TV and recording keep our economy strong. Now, Roane State Community college offers an undergraduate curriculum introducing students to the entertainment industry, and preparing them for further study and entry-level employment.

Musical Theatre is a professionally focused curriculum which provides students a training foundation for entertainment professions and employment ranging from theatres to theme parks, TV and radio to arts management, production and design to dance and movement. 

This concentration is designed for students who wish to major in musical theatre at the bachelor’s level. Upon completion of this two-year concentration, a student may transfer to a senior institution to complete the requirements for the bachelor’s degree in musical theatre, acting, directing, film, communications or a related field.
