This file should be completed before the program deadline date of the year in which you wish to enter the program. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE DATE FOR the Medical Transcription Program is July 15th. This means to be accepted into the program and begin Medical Transcription classes in August, you should have all paperwork and all official transcripts from other colleges submitted by July 15th in order to be considered for the class that begins in the fall. (Exception: Late applicants are considered if openings remain after the July 15th deadline.)

    Paperwork to be submitted:
    • Roane State General Application
    • Health Sciences Application
    • Transcripts as appropriate:
Highschool Transcript, GED scores, College Transcript
    • Medical Transcription Program pre-admission test (see details below)
    • Immunization Record

  2. All applicants must take the Medical Transcription Program pre-admission test. Once your applications are received, you will be contacted by Tomi Thompson, Allied Health Admissions Specialist, with scheduling information.
  3. After the program deadline date, the Health Sciences Admissions Committee will review the applications and select students based on the pre-admission test results.
  4. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Students meeting minimum criteria will be considered competitively based on the results of the pre-admission test.
  5. Preference will be given to Tennessee residents.
  6. Students accepted into the program will be notified by letter after the July 15th deadline.
