Dr. Bill Bass, author and world-known forensic anthropologist, will speak at the Roane State Theatre (Roane County campus) on Thursday, September 18 at 7pm. Seating is limited. Doors open at 6pm.
Dr. Bass will discuss some of the many cases he has worked on in his career as a forensic scientist.
Dr. Bass founded the University of Tennessee’s "Body Farm", the world’s first laboratory dedicated to the study of human decomposition. Bass has authored several hundred academic articles in the fields of anthropology and forensic science. He has also co-authored a memoir and the popular Body Farm fiction series, which includes Flesh and Bone and Carved in Bone. Dr. Bass most recently co-authored The Devil's Bones with Jon Jefferson.
Copies of Dr. Bass’s books will be available for sale following the presentation.
This free event is co-sponsored by Kingston Public Library and Roane State Community College Library. The public is invited to attend.

Beginning September 2, 2008, all computer users must have a personal username/password to use Roane State library computers.
The rscclibrary and lcuser computer accounts will be deactivated on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
Students, staff and TN Tech 2+2 students should continue to use their Roane State network login.
Community users with library cards in good standing can receive their personal username/password at the Roane and Oak Ridge campus library front desk.
Why are we doing this?
- Better statistics on computer lab use will allow us to develop better library services to our students, staff and community
- Personal usernames/passwords will allow the college to be more responsive to campus security concerns.
Contact Robert Benson, Director of Library Services, with questions or concerns.
