Course Description

Initial Practicum is a supervised practicum which includes a minimum of 30 clock hours in instruction and 45 clock hours in a clinical site approved by the department (accredited agency, 3-Star, or department-approved site). These hours may be completed in the student's employment site with departmental approval. The course includes a study of the physical and human qualities that combine to create an environment that is safe and healthy and promotes optimum learning for young children ages birth through eight.
