This course includes symbolic logic, logical reasoning, history of early numeration systems, set theory with rules of operations and Venn diagrams, relations and functions, the systems of whole numbers, of integers, and of rational numbers. Any student would profit from this course, but it is especially targeted to the education major (elementary and non-math secondary). The course description is changing to: This course is an introduction to problem solving; logic, sets, and operations on sets; and properties and operations on whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, and real numbers.
