News: Roane State Knox campus now offers morning sessions for three healthcare training programs

KNOXVILLE – Three programs offered at Roane State’s Knox County Center for Health Sciences will be offered in a morning block instead of an afternoon block to make classes “more accessible for those students with children,” said Rebecca Buntrock, continuing education coordinator.

The change for classes in phlebotomy, electrocardiogram technician, and certified clinical medical assistant will go into effect March 26 and will give students the option to complete training either in the mornings (9 a.m.-noon) or evenings (6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.)

“We have found that either a morning block or an evening block provides the best schedule for working adults,” Buntrock said. “Now, students can drop kids off at school, train for their new career, and then pick up their kids in the afternoon. Or, students can come in the evenings after the work day and school day are over.”
