LEBANON, Tenn. – The Roane State Lady Raiders improved to 8-1 on the season with a 76-49 non-conference road win over Cumberland University JV tonight.
Roane State’s women jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never trailed in the contest. The Lady Raiders closed out the first quarter with a 26-4 lead and carried a 39-22 lead to the halftime locker room.
In the second half the team outscored the Lady Phoenix 37-27 and cruised to the win.
Freshman guard Bralyn McGaha led all scorers with 19-points. Catherine Hendershott added 11.
The win is career win number 795 for Lady Raiders Head Coach David Harnish. The veteran coach is seventh on the all-time wins list for women’s junior college basketball. He is the fourth-winningest active coach in the NJCAA.
The team will be taking a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action on Dec. 1 and 2 with non-conference home games against Spartanburg Methodist and Covenant College.
The conference schedule resume on Dec. 4 when the team travels to Dyersburg State.
