Dr. Arthur Lee grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and earned a BS in Geosciences from Penn State University, a Masters in Geology from Temple University, and a PhD in Geology from University of Southern California. Dr. Lee joined the faculty of Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 2000. He was a beloved and tenured professor and dedicated teacher, earning the highest praise from his many students. His passion for education and for geology was contagious, and his devotion to his students unparalleled. He helped bring to life a program called “Lab-in-a-Box,” a hands-on approach to learning science for middle school students. Just recently, he worked with inmates at the Morgan County Correctional Complex to help them get college degrees.
Education is the gift that lasts a lifetime and this scholarship provides a meaningful way to honor Dr. Lee. Please consider a gift to help fund this scholarship as the money given in Dr. Lee's memory will be used to provide a scholarship each year to a Roane State Community College student.
