It’s more than a pyramid and verbs. Bloom’s Taxonomy can be an important tool for teaching and learning in the classroom. The “Teaching with Blooms” workshop will not only cover the basics of Bloom’s Taxonomy, but also why and how we should be applying those levels to our own teaching and the importance of understanding those levels when it comes to student retention.

As we head into a new school year and the tail end of our current QEP now is the time to revamp our efforts on implementing the QEP. Workshop materials will be made available. The workshop will begin with a brief overview of our current QEP: Learning in Action, including the history and rationale for choosing the topic, as well as how it has impacted students in a positive way. Additionally, we will share project-based and active and collaborative learning strategies that faculty are using before participants explore concrete ways to incorporate these strategies into their own classes with guidance from workshop facilitators.
Rubrics are amazing! They help communicate assignment requirements to your students which help you solve the problem of repetitive questions, etc. They also allow you to easily grade the assignment once the students' work is done. They save you time and additional effort - what could be better than that? In this session, your CTAT team will show you to how to incorporate this very handy tool into your next course.
