DAYTON, Tenn. – Two-time all-region post player, sophomore Kirby Brown, scored the Lady Raiders’ first double-double of the season with a career high 18 rebounds and 16-points, while sophomore guard Addison Frazier came off the bench to tally a career high 26-points in a lopsided 90-62 road win over the Bryan College JV.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 24-19 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Lady Lions were held to only eight points in the second period as the Roane women cruised to a 20-point halftime lead, 47-27.
Roane State won the third quarter, 26-19, giving them a 27-point advantage as they entered the final stanza, 73-46. In the fourth, the Lady Raiders won the frame, 17-16, to give them their sixth win of the season.
In addition to Frazier’s 26 points (a season high for the Lady Raiders) and Brown’s 16-point performance, freshman guard Monique Brown tallied 15-points and Signe Vogel Bang added 11.
The win advances Roane St. to 6-0 (2-0) on the season, matching the team’s start in last year’s campaign. Next up for the Lady Raiders is a visit to Southwest Tennessee in Memphis on Saturday. A win there could give the Lady Raiders their best start in more than a decade.
