The Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Risk is responsible to ensure that the college maintains compliance and continues operations in the occurrence of an adverse event.

The Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Risk is responsible for the following:

• Compliance and monitoring of various local/state/federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Auditing, reviewing, and advising on current or new policies 
• Providing risk assessment, risk aversion, and operational consulting 
• Business continuity planning efforts
• Environmental Health & Safety compliance checks, evaluations, training, & recommendations
• Emergency Response Planning
• Student Success & Innovation Block Grant
• Minors on Campus
• Harassment and Discrimination (Titles VI, VII, IX, ADA, and all other protected statuses under the Civil Rights Amendment)

The Compliance & Risk Officer (CRO) for Roane State serves as the campus Title VI, VII, and IX Coordinator, Programs for Minors on Campus Coordinator, EEO Officer, and an acting Campus Security Authority (CSA). You may report a security concern, incident, or crime to the CRO, as an alternative to the RSCC Police.

  • Students - The Dean of Students is your first contact for pregnancy related modifications (accommodations) and concerns. You may request accommodations by completing this form. Students who wish to make a complaint regarding discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of current, potential, or past pregnancy or related condition may do so by submitting a complaint form at this link or contacting the Compliance Officer/Title IX Coordinator directly.
  • Employees - Human Resources is your first contact for pregnancy related accommodations and concerns. 
    • If you believe you have been harassed, discriminated against or been a victim of retaliation please contact the Compliance Officer or fill out the form above.

  • The CRO will coordinate, conduct, or assist with investigations, reviews, record keeping, training, reporting, budget management, grant management, data management, etc., pertaining to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as other policy and regulation violations.

  • All complaints can be documented on the Unlawful Harassment/Discrimination/Retaliation Complaint Form.

*If a student feels they have not received fair treatment, or has a complaint regarding some situation or condition (financial aid, tuition, parking tickets, advisement, records, admissions, facilities, classroom concerns, student conduct, etc.) at the College, please contact the Dean of Students office or follow this link for more information.
