What is Title IX - Sexual Misconduct/Harassment

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits any educational institution that receives federal financial assistance (such as grants or student loans) from discriminating on the basis of sex. Sexual Misconduct is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX and covers all forms of sexual harassment. Sexual misconduct includes sexual and gender-based harassment, relationship/dating violence, domestic violence, sex and gender based stalking and retaliation, sexual assault, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexual coercion, sexual exploitation, sexual intimidations.

The College is committed to helping rid the campus of any and all acts of Sexual Misconduct. Employees complete training annually and students are provided training each academic year.

Reporting Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct

The decision whether to report to College officials and/or police is a personal and individual decision.

• College personnel can assist you in contacting law enforcement officials if you choose to do so. By calling law enforcement, you are reporting the crime that was committed against you and seeking police assistance.
• You can also contact the Campus Title IX Coordinator if the accused is a student, faculty or staff member. This may result in an investigation being opened pursuant to the Policies below.
