The Salvation Army Calls for Volunteer Bellringers to support the 2025 Red Kettle Campaign (Harriman)
Harriman, TN – The Salvation Army Service Unit of Roane-Morgan Counties is seeking volunteers to serve as bellringers for the upcoming Red Kettle Campaign, an iconic holiday tradition that plays a crucial role in providing vital services to those in need locally. The Red Kettle Campaign has been a symbol of hope and compassion for over a century, and volunteers are the heart and soul of this charitable effort.
The Service Unit’s Red Kettle Campaign will be located at Kroger’s in Harriman from 9 am until 7 pm, starting the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, except Sundays, collecting donations that make a profound impact on local community.
The funds raised are used to support services that help local individuals and families with emergency needs. We primarily provide crisis assistance with rent and utilities, referrals as needed, and Christmas gifts and holiday assistance. In 2024, support was provided to 264 households representing 670 people, single men/women and families. To date in 2025, support of $16,852.38 has been provided to neighbors in crisis, $9582 (utilities), $4789 (rent), and $1350 (gas).
Volunteers are the lifeblood of this campaign, and we will need cover almost 240 hours of bellringing this season. Bellringing is easy, and volunteers can do as many 1-hour shifts as they like, a single shift, a weekly hour, or a single morning or afternoon. You can ring by yourself, with your family, or even a church/school group! To become a volunteer bellringer and join in making a difference this holiday season, please send a TEXT to Diane at 865-224-4312.
Together, we can bring hope to our community and create lasting change.
