Roane State's Counseling Office will host a special event at the Roane County Campus on April 14, 2026, to connect students with various support services.
The event, called "Grow with the Student Support Center," includes a flower planting activity, snacks, and general information about counseling services and resources available to students that can help them meet basic needs.
"We know it can be challenging to do your best in class when you're struggling with unplanned expenses, safe housing, childcare, groceries, or other necessities," RSCC Student Support Advocate Casey Clark explained. "It's important to get the word out to our students that we are here to help. We provide free counseling, access to the on-campus food pantry, and many other college and community resources that can remove barriers to student success."
Grow with the Student Support Center is scheduled for 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. ET just outside the Roane County Campus Library. All students are welcome to stop by any time during the event. Seed packets will be provided for flower planting.
Students are also encouraged to contact the college by emailing need@roanestate.edu with any issue they are facing, especially regarding mental health support and access to technology, food, or housing. Additional information is available at roanestate.edu/need.
