The Rotary Club of Oak Ridge’s Street Painting Festival has been set for September 19, 2026. This annual celebration of local artists is hosted at Roane State’s Oak Ridge Campus and serves as a fundraiser for student scholarships at the community college.

Chalking will begin at 8 a.m. ET on the morning of the festival. Entrant categories are available for a variety of ages and groups. Free chalk and supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies as well.

There is no charge for artists to participate in the event. Registration is now open online at roanestate.edu/streetpainting. Artists wishing to be considered for judging and eligible for awards must be checked in by 10 a.m. ET.

Festival awards will be presented at approximately 5 p.m. ET. Awards include $100 prizes for first place in each category as well as a $300 Best in Show and a $200 People’s Choice Award.

The Street Painting Festival has benefited hundreds of Roane State students since its inception in 1999, having provided more than $300,000 in scholarships issued by the nonprofit Roane State Foundation.

Sponsorships are available in tiers ranging from $100 to $5,000 or more. The first to lend their support to the 2026 festival is silver-level sponsor United Cleanup Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR). This is the second consecutive year that UCOR has signed on as the first sponsor of the event.
