Due to COVID-19, we have temporarily suspended HiSET testing at Roane State Community College. We hope to be able to resume offering this important opportunity beginning in January 2021. Please continue to check back for updates. For current information regarding classes and testing opportunities in your area, please contact the Adult Education Office at 865-323-7323.
Formerly known as the GED, the high school equivalency test (HiSET) is administered at Roane State in Oak Ridge and on the Roane, Campbell, Loudon, Morgan and Scott County campuses. All potential examinees MUST register with an Adult Education Office and take the Official Practice Test (OPT) prior to scheduling a test date. Failure to provide official paperwork on your testing day will result in cancellation of your test and loss of your testing fees.
In Tennessee, you must meet the following eligibility requirements to take the HiSET.
To find an Adult Education program near you, please call 865-323-7323. They can provide information regarding registration. When you are ready to take the HiSET they can help get you schedule and pay your fees.
GED/HiSET Transcript databases are no longer accessible by Testing Centers. To receive a copy of your GED/HiSET transcript you must contact:
