If you're currently enrolled at Roane State, the Learning Center should already be listed as one of your courses on your Momentum page. The navigation bar at the top of the Course Home page includes links to online writing resources, MLA and APA style documentation information, math study resources, and test-taking advice. You can upload your essay to the dropbox and receive feedback from a trained writing tutor.
Though we try to return your draft to you as soon as possible, we ask that you give us at least 48 hours to review your paper. We want to make sure that we have plenty of time to provide a thorough, helpful response. Of course, you'll also want to give yourself some time to read our comments and revise your draft. In other words, the sooner you can submit your paper, the better!
When you submit a paper to the Learning Center Online, you'll be asked to submit a copy of your assignment. You can also use the comments box to specify particular writing concerns. Our tutors review each assignment handout and your comments before completing an online tutoring session, tailoring their feedback to the kinds of help that you've requested.
The Learning Center also provides access to SMARTHINKING online tutoring. You'll need to visit this site to login: services.smarthinking.com. Your username is your Roane State email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and your password is your R number (R########). You can find your R number by logging into your RaiderNet account. It will appear in the upper right-hand corner.
Get a jump on your Praxis exams at http://www.northstarlearning.net/. This fun, interactive site can help you with all three subject areas and includes practice questions, tests, writing prompts, flash cards, and games. Contact us for your username and password at 865-354-3000, ext. 4329. We can also work with you to create a Praxis study schedule.
Please contact us if you have other questions or comments about any of these services.
