The bookstore will purchase and maintain an appropriate inventory of all textbooks, supplementary instructional materials, supplies, and miscellaneous soft goods and sundries for resale to students, employees, and departments.
Textbooks and other instructional materials will only be stocked and sold after approval pursuant to the college's textbook and instructional material adoption policy.
Textbooks and other instructional materials will be purchased from publishers and other normal suppliers. In no circumstance will textbooks, instructional materials, or other items for resale be purchased directly or indirectly from any employee of the college or from any state employee. Only formally published textbooks with ISBN numbers will be purchased.
Departmentally prepared materials may be sold in the bookstore provided they have been approved pursuant to the college's textbook and instructional material adoption policy. In such instances, the department should provide the bookstore with a camera ready copy of the materials to be sold. The bookstore will be responsible for having the material printed. The bookstore markup on such materials will be in accordance with established bookstore policies and procedures. No college employee will receive any payment related to the preparation of such materials.
In no instance shall an individual faculty member sell instructional materials directly to students.
