Course Description

Fundamentals of Paramedic I is the first of two lecture courses to include the following topics: paramedic roles, responsibilities, workforce safety, wellness, public health, communications, documentation, EMS operations, medical/legal considerations, anatomy and physiology, life span development, general pathophysiology, general pharmacology, patient assessment, critical thinking, airway management, respiratory emergencies and introduction to cardiology. (8 contact hours per week) Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Paramedic Program. Co-requisite: EMSP 1401, 1311.
