Deleting Cache Files and Cookies

If you close your browser without logging out or use more than one account in the same browser, conflicting sign-in information, or cookies, may be stored in the browser.

Deleting the Temporary Internet Files and cookies that have been stored by your browser commonly corrects these problems. Please complete the instructions below for the browser you are using. If your browser is not listed, then it is not supported by Pearson, and MyLabsPlus® may not run correctly.

Internet Explorer 11

  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
  2. Open a new Internet Explorer session and open the Tools menu by clicking on the gear in the upper right corner of the toolbar.
  3. In the menu that pops up, select Safety, then Delete Browsing History.
  4. In the Delete Browsing History Window, check Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. If you have saved any Pearson sites as Favorites, uncheck Preserve Favorites website data.
  5. Click Delete. This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait for the files to delete before you continue.
  6. Once the files are deleted, close down your browser session and restart your computer.

Google Chrome 49 or later

  1. Close all Chrome windows.
  2. Open a new Chrome session and click the Chrome menu ☰ on the browser toolbar.
  3. Click Tools.
  4. Click Clear browsing data.
  5. In the dialog box that appears, click the checkboxes for Cookies and other site and plug-in data and Cached images and files.
  6. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Choose beginning of time to delete everything.
  7. Click Clear the browsing data. This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait for the files to delete before you continue.
  8. Once the files are deleted, close down your browser session and restart your computer.

Firefox 45 or later

  1. Close all Firefox windows.
  2. Open a new Firefox session and click the Firefox menu ☰ on the browser toolbar.
  3. Choose Options to open the Preferences window, then select the Advanced panel.
  4. Click on the Network tab, then in the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.
  5. Close the Preferences window, then reopen the Firefox menu ☰.
  6. Click History, then Clear Recent History.
  7. Set the “time range to clear” to Everything.
  8. If the Details section did not expand automatically, click the arrow next to Details to expand the list of history items.
  9. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.
  10. Click Clear Now to clear the cookies, then wait for your files to clear.
  11. Once the files are deleted, close your browser session and restart your computer.

Safari 8.0 or later

  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
  2. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab, the click the button to Remove All Website Data.
  3. Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears. This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait until the files are deleted before continuing.
  4. Once the files are deleted, close your browser session and restart your computer.
