Spring 2024 Events

EDU Orientation

All students enrolled in one of the following courses for the Spring 2024 semester will need to attend one of the mandatory orientation sessions on either the Roane or Oak Ridge campus.

This event will be to complete all paperwork requried for your observation or service learning hours.

Praxis Study Night

Need to take the Praxis Core still? Come study with your peers for the Praxis Study Night. We will have both EDU and MATH 1410/1420 faculty available to assist you. We will also copies of practice test for you to take. Come prepared to study and help your peers study for the Praxis Core! (You can bring your own snacks and drinks!)

Social Media & Teaching Workshop

Social media has a big influence on your profession in teaching in various ways. From personal use to classroom use, come and learn how you can protect and help your teaching career in regards to social media.

Mental Health First Aid Workshop

"Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services."

There is approximately 20-30 minutes of pre-work that will need to be completed prior to the workshop.

STEA Movie Night

Come and join us for a movie night that focuses on teaching and education. Movie is TBD. Bring your own snacks and join us for a fun and low key event to unwind with other education majors before finals.
