Finding/Changing Advisors and Majors

Finding/Changing Advisors and Majors

Beginning with registration for Spring/Summer 2018 (November 13, 2017), students will be required to meet with their faculty advisor or Success Coach to attain a PIN number for registration.  Students accepted into Nursing or Health Sciences programs are exempt from this requirement.

If you are a readmit, transfer or continuing student you will be assigned a faculty advisor who specializes in your major or program of study. Students who are first-time freshman will have a Success Coach in lieu of a faculty advisor. The advisor assignment will remain the same unless you change your major or your faculty advisor is reassigned. This could mean that the advisor is located at a campus other than the one you attend. You should contact your advisor through e-mail, phone consultation, individual or group meetings.

When Are Advisors Assigned?

Advisors are assigned during your first month of classes, as long as your major is a degree or certificate and you do not have a Success Coach.

If your major is non-degree seeking (usually the major contains the word "special"), you will not be assigned a faculty advisor.

Find Your Advisor and Major

Your major and your advisor's name and contact information are right at the top of RaiderNet after you have logged in. Example:

This shows that the advisor is listed at the top of RaiderNet.

Need to Change Your Major?

If your major is not accurate on this screen in Raidernet, you can complete the Change of Major Form. Instructions are provided on the form. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing. Once your change of major is processed, you will be assigned a new faculty advisor appropriate for your new major.
