Dual Studies Students of the Month

April 2024: Nicole Gann

Oliver Springs High School Senior Nicole Gann is the Dual Studies Student of the Month for April 2024. Nicole’s favorite subject is history. She plans to major in biology and enter the medical field. Nicole is the senior class treasurer and a member of Beta Club, Scholar’s Bowl, and FCCLA. She also volunteers at the Oliver Springs Community Ministry Food Pantry and the Harriman library. Nicole enjoys sewing, embroidery, hiking, shopping, reading, and genealogy research. Her favorite quote is Proverbs 31:25: “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

March 2024: Matthias Witte

Lenoir City High School Senior Matthias Witte is the Dual Studies Student of the Month for March 2024. Matthias enjoys math and science. He plans to major in biochemistry with aspirations of joining the Air Force ROTC and eventually becoming a doctor. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, NHS, and the Panther Crew, while taking time for varsity soccer and basketball as well as mechatronics. Matthias enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and serving others. His favorite quote is “Life is not a race, but indeed a journey,” by Bonnie Mohr.

February 2024: Jaylynn Bullock

Jaylynn Bullock is our Dual Studies Student of the Month for February 2024. Jaylynn is a Senior at Anderson County High School, where her favorite subjects are math and science. Jaylynn plans to earn a BSN or master’s degree in nursing and hopes to work in pediatrics someday. She is involved with NHS, basketball, volleyball, and FCA at her school. When Jaylynn is not at school or participating in extracurricular activities, she enjoys singing, going to church, being on the lake, and family time. Her favorite quote is a Bible verse, Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

January 2024: Jacob Atkinson

Jacob Atkinson, a senior at Cumberland County High School, is our January Dual Studies Student of the Month. His favorite subjects include U.S. history, agriscience, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and statistics. Jacob enjoys many extra curricular activities such as FFA, Beta Club, HOSA, CCHS Spirit and Engagement Counsel, CCHS Track and Field, CCHS Wrestling, pole vaulting, and being a part of the CCHS student section at athletic events. Jacob plans to have a career in the field of medicine to become a pediatrician someday. His favorite quote is “I’m just trying to be the best version of me I can be,” by Trea Young.

December 2023: Rachel Heimel

Rachel Heimel, a senior at Rhea County High School, is our December Dual Studies Student of the Month. Rachel aspires to be a high school math teacher. Her favorite subjects are math and history. She is involved with the FCA, Beta Club, and is a member of the varsity volleyball team. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys reading, volleyball, and running. She shared her favorite quote, which is the Bible verses found in 2nd Corinthians 4:16-18, “Therefore we do not give up, even though our outer person I being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us and absolutely incomparable Eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

November 2023: Ryan Prax

Ryan Prax is our Dual Studies Student of the Month for November. He is a senior at Roane County Virtual Academy. Ryan enjoys programming, chess, and video games. He hopes to work in the computer science field in the future. Ryan is a math and chemistry tutor through the Learning Center at Roane State. His favorite quote is by Sheryl Sandberg: “If you're offered a seat on a rocket ship, don't ask what seat. Just get on.”

October 2023: Sophia Hughes

Sophia Hughes, a senior at Oak Ridge High School, is our Dual Studies Student of the Month for October. Sophia is a member of several clubs including FCA, HOSA, and the Environmental Club. She enjoys track, cross country, hiking, swimming, and visiting national parks. Sophia’s favorite subjects are biology, environmental science, and calculus. She plans to major in Veterinary Medicine or Biology and wants to give back to the community in some way. Sophia’s favorite quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

June 2023: Elsey Doris

Elsey Doris of Cumberland County is the RSCC Dual Enrollment Student of the Month for June 2023.

Elsey Doris is our Dual Enrollment Student of the Month for June. She recently graduated from Cumberland County High School and enjoys riding horses and participating in FFA. Elsey would like to become a special education teacher and school administrator in the future. Elsey’s favorite quote is “there are no shortcuts to any place worth going” by Beverly Sills.

April 2023: Cole Hines

Coalfield High School senior Cole Hines is interested in the field of sports science and would like to become a physical therapist in the future. Cole participates in many sports and has already committed to becoming a Roane State Raider in the RSCC Baseball program next year! Cole’s favorite quote is by Vic Blends, “Don’t let what you’re good at define who you are. Who are you if you can’t do what you’re good at?”

March 2023: Luke Malone

Luke Malone is a senior at Lenoir City High School. He would like to have a career in the Computer Science field and is especially interested in programming for roller coasters. Luke enjoys basketball and assisting in an after-hours STEM program at a local middle school. Luke’s favorite quote is by W. Edwards Deming, “If you can’t describe what you are doing as a process, you don’t know what you’re doing.”

February 2023: Emily Farley

Emily Farley is a senior at Cumberland County High School and her favorite subject is math. Emily enjoys participating in soccer, church, FCA, and Reader Volunteers. “Just dream big because dreams do happen” by Alex Morgan is her favorite quote. Emily’s career goals are to become a Physical Therapist and to open her own clinic.

January 2023: Casey Leones

Casey Leones, a Coalfield High School senior, is interested in writing and business with career goals of being an author or an international management analyst. She participates in Upward Bound and enjoys reading, writing, and drawing. Casey’s favorite quote is by Oscar Wilde, “Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming.”

December 2022: Kaylee Goins

Kaylee Goins is a senior from Lenoir City High School. Kaylee belongs to HOSA, Anchor Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. She enjoys reading and writing. Her favorite subjects are math and science. Kaylee’s career goal is to become a doctor.

November 2022: BreOnna Inman

BreOnna is a senior at Cumberland County High School. She enjoys math and plans to be an Architectural or Aerospace Engineer. BreOnna is in the Aviation Club and enjoys drawing. Her favorite quote is by Maya Angelou, “I got my own back.”

June 2022: William Hunter Mullins

William Hunter Mullins would like to be an electrical engineer and enjoys math, geography, history, physics, and strategy games. He belongs to the National Honor Society and the Chess Club. Hunter will be a senior at Lenoir City High School this fall.

May 2022: Mason Fischer

Mason Fischer is a senior at Oak Ridge High School. Mason’s favorite subjects are science and medicine. She would like to major in Kinesiology and become a Physical Therapist for athletes. Mason enjoys rowing, swimming, and playing musical instruments. “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire” by anonymous is Mason’s favorite quote.

April 2022: Akram Amara

Akram is a junior at Cumberland County High School where math and physics are his favorite subjects. He would like to get his Master’s degree in Engineering. Akram enjoys hanging out with friends and playing soccer. His favorite quote is by Cristiano Ronaldo, “We don’t want to tell our dreams. We want to show them.”

March 2022: Zoey Grace Smith

Zoey Grace Smith is a senior at Clarkrange High School who is involved in the Beta Club, the Interact Club, and Basketball. Zoey would like to become a pediatrician, specializing in pediatric cardiology. Her favorite quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

February 2022: Dawson Hughes

Dawson Hughes, a senior at Oak Ridge High School, is our Dual Enrollment Student of the Month for February. Dawson enjoys classes in biology and health and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field. He is involved in the National Honor Society and Wildcat Mentoring. He enjoys throwing discus with the ORHS Track and Field team. Dawson’s favorite quote is by Ronald Reagan, “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.”

January 2022: Mia Joy Harrison

Mia Joy Harrison is an 11th grade student at Lenoir City High School. She enjoys English, choir, Spanish and is interested in becoming an LPN. Mia is involved in several activities such as Interact Club, leading worship at her church, making blankets for people, and Sudoku puzzles. Her favorite quote is “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” - Paul the Apostle in the book of Philippians in the Holy Bible.

April 2020: Lily Rose Cross

Lily Rose Cross, a senior at Scott County High School, is planning for a career in the Accounting field. Her favorite subjects are Math and English. Lily enjoys drawing, videography and playing sports. She competes in soccer and cross-country. Her favorite quote is by Van Gogh, “Normality is a paved road. It’s comfortable to walk on but no flowers grow on it.”

March 2020: Jacey Beth Gouge

Jacey Beth Gouge is a senior at Wartburg High School. She enjoys playing basketball and softball. Jacey’s favorite subject is math which will benefit her as she looks forward to a career in the medical field. Her favorite quote is from Dr. Seuss, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

February 2020: Caitlin Grace Foster

Caitlin is a senior at Oneida High School and lists English and History as her favorite subjects. Caitlin’s career goal is to become a teacher, specifically a Social Studies instructor in the secondary school system. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and participating in the Beta Club and the Scholar’s Bowl. Caitlin’s favorite quote is by Charlotte Bronte- “I would always rather be happy than dignified.”

May 2019: Kamea Lewis

Kamea Lewis is in the 11th Grade at Oneida High School. Her favorite subject is English and she hopes to become a Speech Pathologist. Kamea is involved in several school organizations including National Honor Society, BETA Club, and Best Buddies. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her family and friends. April 2019: Alex Rector

Alex is in 11th grade at Scott County High School. His career goal is to be an orthopedic surgeon. His favorite subjects are math and science and he enjoys hunting and playing sports. Alex’s favorite quote is by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt- “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

March 2019: Sarah Harper

Sarah Harper is a junior at Loudon High School. She plans to major in Engineering and pursue a career in politics. Her interests include NJROTC, Marching Band, physics and math. She enjoys playing the saxophone, competitive marksmanship in NJROTC, and horseback riding. Sarah’s favorite quote is by Carrie Fisher, “I’m not as cooperative as you might want a woman to be.”

January 2019: Naomi Michelle Gunter

Naomi Michelle Gunter is a Junior at Wartburg High School. Naomi is interested in math and science with goals to major in Biology and perhaps enter the field of Obstetrics Gynecology. Her favorite quote is by Brian Tracy, “Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do.” Naomi enjoys cheerleading and hanging with friends.

December 2018: Ian Goldston

Ian Goldston is a senior at Oakdale High School. His favorite subject is science and he hopes to go into the field of Nursing after he receives his Bachelor’s Degree. Ian enjoys basketball, baseball, and is a member of the BETA club. November 2018: Alanalani Shanley

Alanalani is an 11th grade student at Wartburg Central High School in Morgan County. She would like to become a pastry chef and open her own bakery someday. Her favorite subjects are math and business management and she is active in DECA, BETA, and volleyball. Her favorite hobbies are singing, playing her ukulele, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

June 2018: Journey Babb

Journey recently graduated from Scott County High School. Her career goal is to be a pharmacist. Journey participates in many sports including basketball, soccer and fishing. She belongs to the BETA Club and enjoys drawing. Her favorite quote is by an unknown author, “Be a voice, not an echo.”

May 2018: Sydney Smith

Sydney is a senior at York Institute who enjoys theatre, English and history. She is involved in the Drama Club, National Honor Society, and the Book Club. Her hobbies include drawing, writing and reading. Sydney would like to pursue musical theatre.

April 2018: Toby Isaac Hacker

Toby is a senior at Oneida High School. He participates in football and soccer and enjoys the subjects of science and English. Toby hopes to enter the field of Dentistry. His favorite quote is, “Be happy with what you have while working for what you want.” Helen Keller

March 2018: Courtney Chambers

Courtney is a senior at Scott County High School. Courtney’s dream is to become a neurologist and to conduct a trial to more closely study the disease, Myasthenia Gravis. She participates in the BETA Club, Science Club, Envirothon, Rainbow Girls, and Band. Her favorite quote is by India Annette Peyton from Warriors Don’t Cry; “Dignity is a state of mind, just like freedom. These are both precious gifts from God that no one can take away unless you allow them to.”

February 2018: Dylan Pittman

Dylan is a senior at York Institute. His favorite quote is by Calum Von Mager, “Just like the oak sleeps in the acorn, and the eagle sleeps in the egg, every great achievement started with a dream or a thought.” Dylan enjoys health science and math. His career goals are to earn his B.S. in Nursing and to become a Nurse Practitioner.

January 2018: Mattie Scoggins

Mattie Scoggins, a senior at Oneida, would like to major in Special Education or Communication Disorders eventually becoming a speech-language pathologist. Mattie enjoys math and science and is involved in clubs such as Best Buddies and STAND Junior Board of Directors. Her interests include community service, hiking and reading.

December 2017: Jacob Hughett

Jacob Hughett is a senior at Scott High School and enjoys classes in government, economics, and history. Someday, he would like to be the director of a homeless shelter or other non-profit organization. He also has goals of being a state representative. Some of the activities that Jacob is involved in include the STAND Junior Advisory Board, where he serves as president. He also participates in the BETA Club, Morning Devotional, and SWAT. November 2017: Molly Ayers

Molly Ayers is a senior at Campbell County High School. She enjoys English, history, reading, playing tennis, and traveling. At CCHS, she in involved in the Student Council, Beta Club, Junior Leadership, and the Tennis Team. After graduation, Molly would like to major in Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management where she can become an Event Planner. Claire Chambers is a senior at Campbell County High School. Claire enjoys English, math, culinary arts, and cheerleading. At CCHS, she’s involved in the Beta Club, FCA, and Varsity Cheerleading. After graduation, Claire would like to major in Business-Event Planning.

September 2017: Alex McBride

Alex McBride is a senior at Loudon High School. He enjoys history, biology, spending time with family, working out, hanging out with friends, reading, and going for runs. His favorite extra-curricular activities include the National Honors Society, Key Club, and Mission Trips. After graduation at LHS, Alex would like to major in Pharmacy or Medical Research where his goal is to be successful in helping people. August 2017: Taylor Brantley

Taylor Brantley is a senior at Midway High School. She is involved in the MHS Beta Club and enjoys math, science, water sports, and boating. After graduation at MHS, Taylor plans on pursuing a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and possibly becoming an Occupational Therapist. Wesley Petty is a senior at Lenoir City High School. He enjoys being involved in the LCHS Marching and Concert Band. His hobbies include music and computer programming. June 2017: Chris Caulfield

Chris Caulfield is a senior at Midway High School. His favorite subjects are math and science. Chris enjoys paddle boarding, cross country, videogames, and being involved in FIRST Robotics. May 2017: McKenna Kerr

McKenna Kerr is a senior at Campbell County High School. Her favorite subjects are English and history. She’s involved in extra-curricular activities and clubs such as the Student Council, Beta Club, Junior Leadership, Varsity Tennis, PIPES: Possibilities in Postsecondary Education and Science, Volunteer Girls State, and LaFollette United Methodist Church Youth Group. She enjoys reading, playing tennis, and cooking. After graduation at CCHS, McKenna would like to major in Supply Chain Management. After graduation at RCHS, Riley would like to major in Physical Therapy. His career goals are to graduate with a doctorate in Kinesiology and have his own Physical Therapy practice.

Summer Bills is a senior at Jellico High School. Her favorite subjects are English and science. At JHS, she’s involved in HOSA and Student Council. Summer enjoys reading, walking, animals, and special effects makeup. After graduation from Jellico High School, she would like to major in nursing and become a Registered Nurse.

February 2017: Trace Hughes

Trace Hughes is a senior at Midway High School. At MHS, he’s involved in the Beta Club, Cross Country, yearbook staff, and being a math tutor. His hobbies are working on cars, playing guitar, and playing video games. After graduation from Midway High School, Trace would like to major in Engineering. His favorite quote is “I am an optimist. January 2017: Lela Fine

Lela Fine is a senior at Lenoir City High School. She enjoys playing the flute, reading books, and sketching. Lela’s extra-curricular activities include the Science Bowl, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and LCHS Marching Band. Her favorite subjects are chemistry, music, and art. After graduation at LCHS, Lela would like to become a Chemical Engineer and work for Y-12.

December 2016: Peyton Webb

Peyton Webb is a senior at Campbell County High School. His favorite subjects are math and history. He enjoys playing on the high school’s football team and working. After graduation at CCHS, Peyton’s career goals include excelling in Business Management where he can provide for his family.

November 2016: Crystal Boozer

Crystal Boozer is a senior at Jellico High School. Crystal's favorite subject in school is science. She enjoys drawing, reading books, and listening to music. Crystal is involved in the BETA Club, HOSA, DECA, and plays tennis. After graduation in 2017, she would like to major in the medical field where she can advance her career goals as a pediatrician or psychologist.

October 2016: Dane Cannon

Dane Cannon is a senior at Oak Ridge High School. Dane enjoys taking courses in Mechatronics and Physics. These courses will assist Dane in fulfilling his goal of a career in the field of engineering. He enjoys hobbies that involve computers such as computer repair or computer gaming. Dane is also a member of the Computer Science Club.

September 2016: Savanna Nelson

Savanna Nelson has been selected as the Student of the Month. She will be in the graduating class of 2017 at Stone Memorial High School. Savanna’s favorite subjects are math and science. She’s involved in the Beta Club, Renaissance, and Student Council. She likes to work, volunteer, shop, and job shadow. Savanna would like to major in Sports Medicine. Her career goals are to become a Physical Therapist where she can specialize in sports rehab working for a sports team.

August 2016: Alisha Lakhani

Alisha Lakhani has been selected as the Student of the Month. She will be in the graduating class of 2017 at Oak Ridge High School. Alisha’s favorite subjects are Spanish and early childhood education. She’s involved in the Ismaili Community Engaged in Responsible Volunteering (ICERV) group. She likes to volunteer and hopes to be able to assist undeveloped countries and teach young children. Alisha’s career goals include majoring in education where she can be a Child-Life Specialist.

July 2016: Tiffany Barnett

Tiffany Barnett has been selected as the Student of the Month. Tiffany is a senior at Cumberland County High School in Crossville, TN. She enjoys swimming, playing softball, volleyball, and is involved with the Interact Club. Tiffany’s two favorite subjects are English and math. Following her graduation at CCHS, she would like to major in the medical field where she can have her own doctor’s office.

June 2016: Aric Moilanen

Aric Moilanen has been selected as the Student of the Month. Aric is a senior at Stone Memorial High School. His favorite hobbies include computer maintenance/building, reading, writing, and video games. Aric’s favorite subjects are math and science. He’s involved in Computer Tech and Beta Club. Nuclear Engineering is a career field that Aric would like to major in where he can make advancements in nuclear power, specifically with thorium.

May 2016: Mackenzie del Carmen

Mackenzie del Carmen is a senior at Clinton High School. She enjoys being involved in the Interact Club, National Honors Society, Student Athlete Leadership Team, Spanish Honors Society, and Virtual Enterprise. She enjoys traveling, playing tennis and soccer, painting, listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Mackenzie’s favorite subjects are English and Spanish. Her career goals are to establish good work ethics and major in International Business.

April 2016: Jacob Farrar

Jacob Farrar is a junior at Oak Ridge High School. His favorite subjects are history and science. Jacob’s career goal is to be established in a solid and supportive role in the mechanical engineering field after graduation.

March 2016: Alexis Pugh

Alexis Pugh is a senior at Cumberland County High School. She is involved in FBLA Student Council and HOSA. Some of her favorite hobbies are reading and working out. She enjoys taking science, math, and medical classes at CCHS. After graduation, Alexis would like to major in the medical field where she can become a Registered Nurse.

February 2016: Cole Pawlaczyk

Cole Pawlaczyk is a senior at Clinton High School. Cole is involved in the CHS Robotics, H.O.S.A, Snapdragons, NHS Envirothon Team Key Club, and the Scholars Bowl. He enjoys taking Dual Enrollment classes and applying for scholarships. Mathematics, science, and biology are his favorite high school subjects. After graduation, Cole would like to major in Biomedical Engineering and Operational Management. His career goals include becoming a Biomedical Engineer, Program Director, and a Chief Engineer where he can revolutionize the medical field.

January 2016: Richard Martin

Richard Martin is a senior at Oak Ridge High School. Richard is involved in the International Relations Club, track, robotics, and church choir. His favorite subjects include computer science and mechatronics. After graduation, he would like to major in computer science and work in a software company. His career goal is to gain experience and start his own company in the field.

December 2015: Abigail Manning

Abigail Manning has been selected as the Student of the Month and was nominated by Clinton High School. Abigail volunteers at the Oak Ridge hospital, Fantasy of Trees, and is involved in clubs such as the National Honor Society (NHS), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and the National FFA Organization. She enjoys reading, babysitting, and coordinating events for children. Abigail will graduate with distinction in the class of 2016 at Clinton High School. After graduation, her career goals are to be a Nurse Practitioner or a Midwife.

November 2015: Stephen Tung

Stephen Tung has been selected as the Student of the Month and was nominated by Stone Memorial High School. Science and math are his two favorite subjects. He enjoys playing tennis and reading. His extra-curricular activities include the Tennis Team, Beta Club, and Math Club. Stephen will be graduating with the class of 2016 at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville, TN. His overall goal is to complete a bachelor’s degree in the medical field.

October 2015: Lorne Koch

Lorne Koch has been selected as the Student of the Month and was nominated by Leslie Eldridge, high school counselor at Cumberland County High School. English and science are his two favorite subjects. He enjoys being involved in community projects and his favorite hobbies are soccer, swimming, traveling, and camping. Lorne will be graduating with the class of 2016 at Cumberland County High School. Lorne would like to major in the medical field after graduation.

Morgan has been selected as the Student of the Month and was nominated by Lisa Dillard, high school counselor at Stone Memorial High School. Morgan is a junior at Stone Memorial. English and math are her favorite subjects. She is involved in the Student Council, Beta, Interact, Renaissance, golf team, and she is currently the Class President. Morgan's favorite hobbies are tutoring elementary school students and playing golf. Her goals are to major in medicine and make a contribution to the medical field.
