The purpose of the Roane State Community College Police Department is to provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment in which students, faculty, staff, and visitors can pursue the educational mission of Roane State Community College.
The Police Department is committed to protecting life and property, preserving peace and order, preventing and investigating crime, enforcing applicable laws and college policies, and providing professional law enforcement and public safety services throughout the College community.
The Department recognizes that effective campus safety extends beyond traditional law enforcement. Through community engagement, crime prevention, emergency preparedness, education, communication, and partnerships, the Department works collaboratively with students, employees, College leadership, local law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and community organizations to identify concerns and promote a safe learning and working environment.
Members of the Roane State Community College Police Department shall perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, fairness, respect, accountability, and impartiality. All individuals shall be treated with dignity and courtesy, and Department personnel shall exercise their authority responsibly and in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, Tennessee Board of Regents policies, College policies, and established departmental procedures.
