We are a registered non-profit animal rescue serving Anderson and surrounding counties. AC ARF is dedicated to helping our community pets and their owners, helping keep pets healthy, happy and in their homes where they belong and out of shelters. AC ARF is entirely volunteer-based rescue and our programs frequently need short-term volunteer help with volunteer opportunities offered throughout the year, including special events and outreach as well as a monthly pet pantry. Some of our events are large and need many volunteers, such as our annual Paws for a Cause Pet Expo in April at the Clinton Dog Park. This one-day very dog-friendly event alone would satisfy the full 8-hour community service requirement for a student’s Tennessee Promise scholarship. Other events/programs offer shorter volunteer opportunities, such as 2 or 4 hours. |

Children's Museum of Oak Ridge provides educational programs and exhibits with an emphasis on play and hands-on learning for all ages and backgrounds in the arts, environmental studies, history, and world cultures that inspire, enrich, and improve the lives of East Tennessee children and their families. Volunteers are needed for the following: 2) We are looking for volunteers to work with our education coordinator during preschool classes, to come up with lesson plans, work during summer camps, do daily projects with campers, do fitness activities, and volunteer at events. 3) We need volunteers to assist in our garden, performing such tasks as planting, weeding, and deadheading of flowers, vegetables, trees, etc.; and to assist in fall cleanups and spring preparation. 4) Volunteers are needed to serve as greeters at front desk, oversee birthday parties, general office duties, special events, mass mailings, marketing, graphic design, etc. 5) We are in need of volunteers for our annual Gala, held on December 1, 2017 this year. We are in need of volunteers to help with set up, food serving etc. |
