An applicant who does not wish to pursue a degree or certificate but wants to enhance personal and/or professional skills will be considered Personal Enrichment. Applicants in this category should:

High School Graduate

An applicant who has earned a regular high school diploma or HSE may enroll in any course except college-level math, English, or one that has college-level math or English prerequisite.

  1. Apply using the online application for admission located at www.roanestate.edu.
  2. Submit Proof of US Citizenship or Lawful Presence.
  3. Complete the Immunization Health History Form.
  4. Take the Accuplacer exam if enrolling in courses which require the student to be on college level in math, reading, or writing. Additionally, individuals under 21 years of age may provide ACT or SAT scores less than five (5) years old or an official high school transcript documenting that the student has an unweighted high school GPA of 3.60 or higher.

Student with Previous College Credit

An applicant who has earned college credit but does not have a degree may enroll after completing the following:

  1. Apply using the online application for admission located at www.roanestate.edu.
  2. Submit Proof of US Citizenship or Lawful Presence.
  3. Complete the Immunization Health History Form.
  4. Undergo placement assessment if enrolling in courses which require the student to be on college level in math, reading, or writing. If the student has previously completed college level math or English courses at a regionally accredited institution, the student may submit an official college transcript in lieu of taking the placement exam.

College Graduate

An applicant who has earned a college degree may enroll after completing the following:

  1. Apply using the online application for admission located at www.roanestate.edu.
  2. Submit Proof of US Citizenship or Lawful Presence.
  3. Complete the Immunization Health History Form.
  4. Submit an official transcript from the post-secondary institution from which the degree was earned if enrolling in courses which require the student to be on college level in math, reading, or writing.
