Morgan County Cattleman's Association Scholarship Program 2022

Scholarship Overview

The Morgan County Cattlemen's Association (MCCA) will award up to3 scholarships of $1000 each to outstanding students who are pursuing or continuing careers in the agriculture/beef industry, a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) area of study, or teaching grades K- 12.The purpose of this program is to identify and encourage talented and thoughtful students who aspire to complete their higher education and develop careers that contribute to their communities.

Conditions of Eligibility

Judging Process

The Morgan County Cattlemen's Association will administer the program and select the winner (s). Application letter of intent will be judged on the basis of originality, grammar, and clarity of expression. The decisions of the judges will serve as recommendations to the MCCA Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will make the final decision. The MCCA reserves the right to publish all or any part of the letters submitted. Applicants will be evaluated in the following 3 areas which shows the percent value used to determine the final score. The highest score possible in each area equals 100.

Application Requirements

  1. Letter of intent – write a one page letter expressing your future career goals
  2. References – obtain two letters of reference, signed by the authors, from current or former instructors, or industry professionals
  3. Submit an official certified school transcript of subjects, grades, and ACT scores
  4. Send the 3 requirements listed above including your contact information to: Neal Richardson 590 Barnett Bridge Road, Lancing, Tennessee 37770
  5. Submissions must be postmarked by February 26, 2022

Awarding of Scholarships

The winners of the scholarships will be notified after the Board has made the final decision. The scholarship recipients must be present at the MCCA picnic auction in July to be presented with a certificate and a check made out to the student and the school in which they are enrolled.
