The Community Outreach and Professional Training Department offers business and computer skills classes to area businesses and industries as well as individuals who are looking for skills to help them in their jobs or everyday life.

NEW Courses Offered

Radiological Control Technology

This course will prepare students to gain skills and knowledge to pass the Department of Energy (DOE) Core Academy and start a career as an entry level health physicist in a DOE facility.

September 10 - October 9, Fridays from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The cost is $499.00 and includes a certification test.

Back into Black

The course, titled “Back into Black,” will cover topics such as debt reduction and ways to save money on everyday purchases. Participants will develop their own debt-reduction plan as part of the class and are invited to bring a list of their debts.

George Lucke, an author, seminar presenter and executive director of Back into Black, will teach the course. Back into Black is a financial education service dedicated to helping people break free from the burden of debt.

The class costs $89, which includes a 16-page workbook. Participants’ spouses can attend for free.
