- Complete classes that will transfer to a university:
No matter your major, all degree seeking students have to take a group of core courses called general education classes, or “gen ed” for short. Examples include composition and math. Most can complete all of their general education requirements at the campus through a combination of traditional on-ground classes and those delivered via our IDEA room technology. Students will need to travel to another campus for science labs.
Complete Learning Support Requirements
Many Roane State students start in what are called Learning Support classes. The classes do not count toward degrees but are designed to strengthen students’ skills in math, writing or reading so that students are ready for college-level work. Students can finish all of their Learning Support courses at the campus.
