The Anderson County Higher Education Center is a joint campus for Roane State Community College and TCAT Knoxville. Roane State offers its Mechatronics program at this site, along with supporting classes such as physics and CAD to provide students with a complete pathway.
Jumpstart a high-tech career with Roane State’s Mechatronics Technology program — a hands-on, industry-driven pathway that trains you to build, program, and maintain the automated systems that power today’s factories and smart facilities. You’ll get practical experience with PLC and HMI programming, robotics, sensors and feedback systems, electrical and pneumatic/hydraulic fundamentals, and system integration. Coursework emphasizes hands-on problem solving, equipment testing, and system operation, giving graduates the practical skills to identify issues, perform basic repairs, and keep automated systems running on the shop floor and in production environments.
Students can earn Siemens Level 1 & 2 certifications and graduate with either a one-year technical certificate or a two-year applied associate degree. With their hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials, graduates are prepared to step directly into in-demand roles in manufacturing, automation, and industrial operations.
If you are a Roane State student attending this location, you will follow the campus closure information of the Oak Ridge Branch Campus (ORBC). If ORBC is closed or delayed due to weather related concerns, this location will be as well. Please be sure to sign up for RaiderAlerts for important information related to campus information.
