2026 Southwest Field Trip Itinerary

May 11: Leave RSCC at approximately 10:00 AM Eastern Time and drive to Santa Fe, NM

May 12: Tour downtown Santa Fe and camp beside Lake Abiquiu

May 13: Travel to and tour Chaco Canyon National Historic Park; camp beside Lake Abiquiu

May 14: Drive to and camp at Bluewater Lake State Park

May 15: Drive to Flagstaff and camp at Sunset Crater National Monument

May 16: Camp at Sunset Crater National Monument; see the lava flows and Wupatki National Monument

May 17: Travel to and see the Grand Canyon South Rim

May 18: Drive to Snow Canyon State Park in Utah; stop and see the Colorado River

May 19: Camp in Snow Canyon State Park; rest and recovery day, tour lava tubes

May 20: Camp in Snow Canyon State Park; travel to Zion National Park

May 21: Drive to Kodachrome Basin State Park and visit Bryce Canyon National Park on the way; camp at Kodachrome Basin

May 22: Drive to and camp at Singletree Campground

May 23: Camp at Singletree Campground; hike to Zebra Slot Canyon (weather permitting)

May 24: Travel to Moab, Utah; stop at the Eye of Sinbad in the San Rafael Swell; camp in Moab

May 25: Lunch in Moab, then travel to Indian Creek Falls campsite, outside of Canyonlands National Park

May 26: Travel to Mesa Verde National Park; tour a cliff dwelling and camp atop Mesa Verde

May 27: Lunch in Durango, CO and travel to San Antonio Hot Springs; camp at the hot springs campground

May 28: Camp at San Antonio Hot Springs campground; drive to and tour Bandelier National Monument

May 29: Drive to Lake Tenkiller State Park in Oklahoma

May 30: Rest at Lake Tenkiller

May 31: Drive home; arrive at RSCC around 6:00
