What We Do

Welcome! We provide short-term supportive type personal counseling to currently enrolled students and make referrals to appropriate community resources. For enrollment or academic-related assistance please contact your success coach or academic advisor.

Roane State has a Counselor at Roane County (D-111) and at Oak Ridge (B-112). Services are provided by appointment at these and other campus locations. College students are in a state of life transition and can be overwhelmed with new opportunities and new responsibilities. Lifestyle changes, such as sleep deprivation and substance abuse, can contribute to suicidal behavior.

Suicide Warning Signs:

There are some behaviors that signal possible suicidal thoughts and attempts. Knowing these signals and taking action may help you save someone’s life. A person might be suicidal if they:

Remember: Any one of these warning signs alone does not necessarily indicate a person is suicidal. However, several warning signs may be cause for concern. Warning signs are especially important if the person has attempted suicide in the past. Listen. Get professional help. Your actions may save a life!
